Creativity: Dancing the Living Impulse of Creation
A Biodanza School Weekend with Pablo Escorcia
Creativity is one of the great mysteries of life.
A seed becomes a forest. A river carves a valley. A child invents a new game. Human beings imagine, create, transform, and renew themselves. Life is inherently creative.
In Biodanza, creativity is not understood as a talent reserved for artists. It is a fundamental expression of our identity and one of the essential potentials of human development. Every person possesses an innate capacity to generate new responses, explore new possibilities, and continuously recreate their relationship with themselves, with others, and with life.
During this school weekend, we will explore creativity as a living and embodied process. Through music, movement, encounter, play, expression, imagination, storytelling, and artistic exploration, we will awaken the creative impulse that exists within each of us.
Creativity is deeply connected to identity. Every authentic act of creation reveals something about who we are. When we dance, paint, write, sing, imagine, or tell stories, we are not merely producing something external; we are giving form to our inner world and allowing life to express itself through us.
Rolando Toro described creativity as the capacity to innovate existence itself. Creativity is therefore not limited to artistic production. It is present in the way we love, solve problems, build relationships, face uncertainty, and shape our lives. A creative life is not necessarily a spectacular life; it is a life that remains alive, responsive, and open to transformation.
Throughout the weekend, we will explore both individual and collective dimensions of creativity. We will investigate the conditions that nourish creativity and those that inhibit it. We will create spaces where spontaneity, curiosity, sensitivity, and expression can emerge without judgment or performance pressure.
When creativity is blocked, life tends to become repetitive, mechanical, and predictable. When creativity is stimulated, new possibilities appear. We recover the pleasure of discovery, the courage to experiment, and the freedom to become more fully ourselves.
This weekend is an invitation to reconnect with the creative intelligence of life itself — to dance, explore, imagine, express, and rediscover creativity not as something we do, but as something we are.
OUR FACILITATOR FOR THE CREATIVITY MODULE
Pablo Escorcia is a Didacta Biodanza teacher, conscious movement practitioner, coach, consultant, and Director of the Biodanza School of Medellín, Colombia.
For more than twenty years, he has facilitated Biodanza groups, training programs, workshops, and festivals across Europe, Africa, the Americas, and the Middle East. Throughout this journey, he has been dedicated to exploring how movement, music, encounter, and embodied experience can awaken human potential and strengthen our connection with life.
As a Biodanza supervisor and trainer, Pablo has accompanied the development of facilitators for over fifteen years, supporting them in cultivating both methodological rigor and personal authenticity. His teaching combines a deep respect for the foundations of Biodanza with a curiosity for emerging questions about creativity, consciousness, community, and transformation.
Alongside his Biodanza work, Pablo has spent more than two decades working internationally as an organizational consultant, leadership coach, and facilitator. He has collaborated with NGOs, social movements, educational institutions, and mission-driven organizations, helping leaders and teams navigate complexity, change, and regeneration.
This unique combination of Biodanza, regenerative thinking, organizational development, and human transformation has shaped a distinctive perspective that informs his teaching. His work explores the intersection between personal development and collective change, emphasizing creativity as a vital force for both individual and cultural renewal.
As Director of the Biodanza School of Medellín, he is committed to fostering a learning environment rooted in rigor, community, belonging, and the Biocentric Principle. His approach invites participants not only to learn Biodanza, but to deepen their capacity to live with greater presence, creativity, vitality, and connection.
In this Creativity module, Pablo invites participants to explore creativity as Biodanza understands it: the capacity to continuously recreate ourselves and to participate consciously in the ongoing creative movement of life.

The Tree of Desires Retreat
April 2026
Saturday and Sunday all day
“Knowing what we want in life is part of our identity, we become our desire” - Rolando Toro
“When I dance it, I become my desire” - Rolando Toro

Its roots plunge into the land of instinct.
Its trunk rooted into the power of action.
Its branches unfold in the infinite universe of encounters, promises, imagination, possibilities, and dreams.
It's seasons alter between presence and absence,
Between what is being offered and what is momentarily gone.
Its abundant fruits have the flavor of fulfillment and pleasure.
It is the alliance between the forces of the depths of need and the promises of life.
Such is "THE TREE OF DESIRES" workshop. Exciting, no?
To support our growth, however, we need to know how to:
•Make the difference between needing, desiring and dreaming.
•Identify the nature and dynamics of our desires.
•Make the difference between expressing a desire and realizing it.
•Make the difference between the satisfaction of a passing whim and achieving a deep aspiration.
•Recognize our contradictions and our paradoxes.
•Learn to choose which desire resides deep within our instinct.
The objective is to awaken our potentials of realization.
...to stimulate our courage, our daring, our passion so that we may at the same time make clear choices when possible and surrender to the unknown.
Dancing our desire, we may free all its vitality and all the poetry of living. We learn how to cherish our own fruit.
Each participant will be invited to filling up his/her/their “Tree of Desires”, identifying the central ones. These will generate the “Star of Desire” and the dances will be proposed in order to “incorporate” their specific energy.
Rolando Toro says, “when I dance it, I become my desire”.
Come join us in APRIL 2026 for a long weekend of dreaming and dancing.

OUR Biodanza CLASS FAQs
What is Biodanza?
Biodanza is a system of guided movement and music that supports emotional expression, physical vitality, and human connection. It’s not a performance-based dance—there are no steps to learn. Instead, it’s about experiencing presence, joy, and connection through movement.
Do I need dance experience to participate?
Not at all! No prior dance experience is needed. Biodanza is accessible to all body types and movement abilities. You’ll be guided in a safe, welcoming space to move in a way that feels natural and enjoyable for you.
What should I wear or bring to class?
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and bring water. We dance barefoot or in soft-soled shoes. No special gear is required—just bring yourself.
How long is each class?
Classes typically run about two hours, including a welcome, the movement session (called a vivencia), and a closing circle or brief reflection.
Can I attend just one class to try it out?
Yes! If you're an experienced Biodanza participant, you can join as a drop-in for $30 per class. If you’re new, we recommend starting with an intro series or a committed group to receive the full benefit of the practice.
What’s the benefit of regular weekly classes?
Dancing weekly with the same group creates a deeper sense of trust and connection. Regular practice allows for personal integration, emotional release, and sustained transformation over time.
Is Biodanza therapy or counseling?
No. While Biodanza is deeply therapeutic, it is not a replacement for psychotherapy or counseling. It is a somatic and emotional wellness practice designed to support holistic health and integration.
How do I sign up and pay?
You can choose from the following options:
$25/class – Pay upfront monthly for committed weekly practice
$30/class – Drop-in rate for those with prior Biodanza experience
$20/class – Special monthly rate for students enrolled in a school
Are you a new student? contact Michelle to tell her you are attending first. info@biodanzausa.com
Preferred payment is Zelle (safest bank to bank transfer): Michelle Dubreuil Macek using the email: biodanzaeastcoast@gmail.com

What's your cancelation policy?
