Straight from the Soul (and Soles!)

Each dancer brings a story. Here are a few voices from the journey and some glimpses of what Biodanza opens in the heart, body, and spirit.

I am a 73 year old man who happens to have Parkinson's. It doesn't matter. I am able to do the dances. I feel safe. I feel connected to the others. A kind of family of Biodanceros has developed.

It was an awesome event!! I traveled from NH and it was more than worth the distance and craziness :-) It was my first Biodanza experience and I had huge expectations... the gathering was beyond my expectations!! I absolutely recommend it!! The "vivencias" were beautiful, fun, touching, enlightening... it was just awesome!! Michelle is a sweetheart and the people that attended were wonderful and real... did I said delicious too?! ;-) Thanks for an extra-ordinary experience to all of you beautiful beings... biodanceros!! ;-) Can't wait to dance with you again!! Con mucho amor!!

Biodanza was new to me,and I was overjoyed and overwhelmed by the spiritual impact of it, the healing potency of it, the beauty - the exquisite model of gentle community, physical joy, and psychological wholeness that it embodies. It IS, quite simply, the consciousness and healing wave embodied in movement and dance. It is new for the U.S.A., although practiced around the world. As I celebrated this summer my twenty years of coming to Omega to grow, I could not have chosen a more profound workshop or a more incredible teacher (and I have had many over 20 years)

I had a completely amazing experience! I have been in a process of letting go and grieving some heartache and loss of a precious relationship, and I felt safe in that space to gradually let my heart begin to open up again. You are a powerful and healing presence to be around, and it meant so much to me that you gave us your time and energy in that way. I also have had issues with dance and movement, as I usually feel I cannot follow choreography and become intensely frustrated at trying to learn steps, start feeling like an idiot and have to quit. This form of dance was perfect for me because it was only what I wanted it to be and I didn't have to follow anyone else's steps but just dance my own heart dance. I felt supremely alive, beautiful, brave and graceful.

Biodanza is a way for me to free my mind, spirit, and body from their inner selves and form a union of peace and serenity through the miracle of dance. I felt an inner calmness flowing throughout my body as I connected to a world of complete relaxation and connection. In Biodanza you use motion and music to discover a way to ground yourself from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. At the end of a Biodanza session, I felt a sense of love and connectivity with all the participants and of my relationships in general.

I first experienced Biodanza in 2005. At this time my Parkinsons symptoms manifested. I began a parallel path of Mens Work through the ManKind Project and engaged with my Soul Partner, in the journey that we have walked together since that time.

What I know is that without this experiential journey provided by Biodanza, I could never be in the place of Love and Joy that I now embody.

Biodanza has given me an experience of continuous joy and intimacy coupled with the ability to relate to all humanity at a level of intimacy that I never thought possible.
These experiences have underpinned my path for a number of personal transformational experiences.

And so I find myself today in that beautiful space where my Inner Archetypes are connected and integrated and I do not have to do anything to be loved.

I have no hesitation in recommending Biodanza as a powerful healing modality that will reward any Human who seeks to integrate their inner self.

I've been doing Biodanza with Michelle for several years and I've found her and the dance to be really healing and supportive in a subtle way. It's allowed me introspection and the opportunity to connect with others. In fact, I always feel excited and part of a warm and supportive community when I enter the dance space.

Amazing. I didn't know what to expect and was blown away. Dance is such a wonderful way to express yourself. Biodanza takes it to a whole other level. Really allows you to take the time to get in touch with your inner feelings, laugh and enjoy sharing with other people. A wonderful time.

Your contribution BRIGHTENED up our spring festival and brought some much needed love, joy and movement to our community.

I am happy and relieved to say that Biodanza brought me back to me last night :-)) When I very first arrived I felt that I was projecting my brother, sister, father, mother on to the WHOLE world and could not find ME. I had lost access to my inner child and to 'kathy' (-:\ The community building, connections and safety was truly AWESOME ♥

Michelle, you are a fantastic teacher! You made me feel so comfortable, and trust me, I did have apprehensions. Not about you, just the typical body image stuff - dancing in front of others, letting go, all that junk that gets in the way of allowing ourselves to be free. I truly enjoyed your dance, as well as everyone else's in the class; and the best part of the class was that is was FUN. I am truly grateful!

Coming from a theater background, I have experienced many different movement and expressive modalities in my life, and thought nothing can surprise me. But Biodanza did! It is life giving, simple yet profound, and it has enriched my life.. it is non threatening and so much fun!!! recommended for anyone who wants to feel alive and connected to themselves and others!

I love Biodanza. It gets me to embrace parts of myself that I've always had trouble accepting. I've heard about the romanticized "summer of love" in San Francisco in 1967 and somehow I feel I'm getting all the same positive, accepting energy here. We enter this retreat-like setting leaving the rest of our lives behind and we leave wanting to experience the rest of our lives more fully. This experience has become a positive addiction for me and definitely life changing.

I love to dance, and have enjoyed Biodanza for both the fun and the depth of the experience. But there has been another benefit too: my blood pressure had been slowly creeping up into the 'borderline' range for several years before I found Biodanza. Work stress was driving my blood pressure up in spite of lots of exercise and a good diet. After a few weeks of Biodanza classes, I found that my blood pressure had dropped back to normal and has stayed there! The connection and joy of Biodanza provide great stress relief.

Michelle what I’ve learned lately in my last Biodanza classes have been boundaries. I have been learning how to slow my rhythm to still have vitality but to have a more balanced vitality where I’m not heaving for air and water after the third or fourth dance, but I’m awake in my body and exercising more balance. And I have slowed the roll with others trying to be too fast or intimate for me by changing my pace and moving away to reset expectations. Biodanza has been such a beautiful addition to my life for the past three years and it’s the first and only thing I’ve added to my life for myself during that time that has stuck. I love Biodanza, you and the group. The embrace of the group makes me feel seen, loved and like there is a community of people I always want to return to and seek closer connection with within and beyond dance class

Michelle has a wonderful gift of creating a safe comfortable space for people to explore movement and connection.

Wonderful wonderful workshop! It was instructional while completely allowing each of us our own dance. Michelle gently led the participants into connection within themselves in one dance, then connection with others in the next dance. It was delicious! I would do it again, and again!

I've been enjoying the dance of life for a decade now and I can honestly say it's helped me heal and enjoy so much in my life that I cannot ever think of not Biodancing!

Over the years, I have practiced yoga, 5 rhythms, contact improv and other modalities. Of all, the one that has resonated the most with me is biodanza. While a bit structured, it is so organic. While gentle, it is so powerful. I have learned to connect with others and with the wisdom of my body in a safe space. The music moves me at so many levels. It is an oasis in the middle of a hectic week. Currently, I am learning about the importance of the regulation of the nervous system to heal emotionally and physically. A regular Biodanza practice supports this regulation. Thanks Michelle!
